Is there a word count for the research report in Literature and Composition II? How many words should there be in a paragraph? How many paragraphs?

For the research report in Literature and Composition II, there is no word count, but the report needs to be four to six pages. This means there must be at least four full top-to-bottom pages of double-spaced text before adding footnotes. This four-page minimum also excludes the cover page, outline, and bibliography. For a point of reference, the sample research report on SetonOnline has four full pages (minus footnotes, etc.).

There is also no defined amount of words you should have in a paragraph. Typically, a paragraph will have at least five sentences at a minimum.

There is no defined amount of paragraphs you should have. However, considering it is a four-six-page report, there needs to be more than three body paragraphs. Students should not try to write the whole report with only five paragraphs.  This would make for unwieldy and excessively lengthy body paragraphs.
