Saxon Home Study Kits - general information

Saxon Home Study Kits:
The Saxon Home Study Kits are a more independent, parent-led edition of the Saxon courses. Unlike the older, hardcover editions of the Saxon books, we have not developed Lesson Plans to accompany the Home Study Kits. The Home Study Kit bundle includes 3 books: the softcover textbook, the Solutions Manual (answer key), and the Tests/Worksheets booklet.

Testing with the Home Study Kit:
For this edition of the course, tests are located in the Tests/Worksheets booklet (towards the back of the booklet). In the Tests/Worksheets booklet, a Testing Schedule is printed on the page before Test 1. This schedule will show when to administer tests. Answer keys for the tests are located in the Solutions Manual (towards the back of the manual).
The parent grades all of the tests, but submits the graded, even-numbered tests to Seton as proof of work. When submitting the even-numbered tests, please make sure that your parent grade is clearly visible at the top of the test. You may upload the graded, even-numbered tests to MySeton, and we will enter these grades on your student's report card.

With Saxon, how many lessons should my student complete per week?
Saxon recommends a weekly schedule of 3-5 math lessons per week. You are welcome to move at your student's pace, however.
