Some Seton families by circumstances or choice are not
internet users. The option to mail in work for grading is specifically for
them. For those families who can submit work electronically, however, there are
several benefits for the family and Seton. This is especially true with
high school English work, which generally takes longer to grade than other
courses because of the essay and research report assignments:
1. Grading electronically-submitted work is faster and easier for graders than grading mailed-in work. The grading department instantly receives the submission, and it is immediately placed in the grading queue. The more families submit work electronically, the faster the grading turnaround times are for everyone.
2. When students or parents have questions concerning grading, an academic counselor can instantly pull up the assignment in question and see the grader's comments. Seton does not scan or keep copies of mailed-in assignments, so in order for counselors to address grading concerns, the family needs to email a scanned copy of it first. This can cause delays since the counselor could not instantly view the submission and grading.
